Overview

The ArcaBoard is a machine lifted by 36 high power electric ducted fans with a maximum thrust of 200 kgf (430 lbs). It has a built-in stabilization unit, meaning that ArcaBoard is stable in any condition and is a very safe platform to fly on. You will be able to use your phone for control and navigation of the vehicle itself. But for the most intense experience you can turn off the stabilization system and steer the ArcaBoard with your body.

Airframe

Simplicity is excellence. Designing a shape for a revolutionary vehicle is no simple task. After thousands of hours creating and testing different structures, we came to the conclusion that a shape so simple, yet so powerful, is the answer to our quest for perfection. A shape that can provide stability, durability and safely contain the tremendous power within.

Everything built from composite materials. We use aerospace grade composite materials to create a very lightweight though stiff and resilient structure, to house the 36 electric motors and batteries. The weight of the composite structure alone, at only 10 kg (22 lbs) is remarkable. 203,000 W is a huge amount of power and the composite structure is a good thermal insulator, but the forced cooling system allows the ArcaBoard equipment to remain cool, even during intense usage.

Propulsion

How do you put 272 horsepower inside a vehicle so thin? The answer is with very great care. The Electric Ducted Fans (EDF), together with the controllers and the batteries, they occupy 90 percent of the space inside the board. This generates a significant amount of heat that is dissipated using a high performance cooling system. By using 36 power fans we ensure that even in the case of multiple motor failures there are enough motors remaining to take over so you keep on riding.

Total mobility

ArcaBoard represents total freedom of movement, total freedom of travel. A personal vehicle that can move in all possible directions including upwards. No longer be confined to roads, rail tracks, land or water. Go wherever you want whenever you want.

Safety first

By using 36 smaller electric ducted fans instead of fewer larger ones we ensure that the ArcaBoard keeps operating even in the case of multiple engine failures. Each engine is powered by its own set of batteries independently of the other power units creating a multiple redundant system.

Defiant VTOL Drone

The ArcaBoard technology was incorporated into the Defiant VTOL drone, a reconnaissance aircraft with military applications.
