About Us

ARCA is a partnership between ARCA Space Corporation, a US corporation (est. 2014) and ARCA NGO, a EU non-profit (est. 1999).

ARCA Space Corporation is a for-profit US corporation established in 2014 in New Mexico. The company's efforts are aiming to implement the most cost effective commercial launch services through the Haas 2CA rocket launcher. The company also created the ArcaBoard flying hoverboard and is also specialised in drones development.

ARCA NGO is a European R&D non-profit established in 1999 in Romania, that creates state of the art aerospace technologies. The team is specialised in the development, fabrication and flight testing of cutting-edge rocket tanks, engines, large high altitude balloons, drones, test vehicles for planetary missions hardware. Currently ARCA NGO is developing the aerospike engine technology for both the Demonstrator 3B and Haas 2CA rockets.

The ARCA team has the following experience:

2004 - During the 10 million $ Ansari X Prize Competition, ARCA NGO successfully launched its first rocket, Demonstrator 2B.

2006 - ARCA NGO built the world's largest solar balloon that lifted into the stratosphere the crew capsule of Stabilo, a manned suborbital vehicle created after the end of Ansari X Prize Competition.

2007 - The Stabilo program continued at ARCA NGO, this time with an even larger solar balloon lifting the complete Stabilo vehicle into the stratosphere.

2008 - ARCA NGO joined the $30 million Google Lunar X Prize Competition and in 2013 the team withdrew from the Competition, our main activity focusing on the development of commercially available products.

2010 - ARCA's NGO Helen rocket was launched at 120,000 ft, the event representing the first powered flight in the Google Lunar X Prize Competition. The rocket was transported into the stratosphere with the help of an ARCA built helium balloon.

2012 - Haas rocket series was introduced, by ARCA NGO consisting of the sub-orbital Haas 2B and orbital Haas 2C rocket launchers. The development of these launchers is currently our main activity.

2013 - The European Space Agency (ESA) awarded ARCA NGO with a contract to test the parachutes system for the ExoMars spacecraft that will be launched to Mars in 2016. ARCA developed the hardware and performed the flight tests for the High Altitude Drop Test.

2014 - ARCA Space Corporation was incorporated in the United States, New Mexico, as a for-profit corpopration.

2014 - Air Strato large drone performed the first flight at the beginning of this year and it became ARCA NGO's first product to become commercially available. The aircraft was transfered to the newly created ARCA Space Corporation in the United States and is no longer into our inventory.

2015 - ARCA Space Corporation created the ArcaBoard, the world's first real hoverboard commercialy available. The company signed in 2017 a contract with DARPA for this technology, ultimately aiming to improve the mobility and responsivness of US troops on the battlefield.

2017 - ARCA Space Corporation introduced the Haas 2CA, a version of Haas 2C, equipped with an aerospike rocket engine. The rocket is intended for small satellites market, estimated at $5.3 billions in the next decade. Currently ARCA NGO is supporting ARCA Space Corporation with the vehicle development and with the aerospike technology flight testing.
